Pete Cashmore, born September 18, 1986 is the founder of Mashable. So what do we know about him and his company? Well, he grew up in Banchory and established his Mashable at the age of 20. Mashable is a blog which as established itself as the place to discover trends in the digital world.

Cashmore, himself, has been recognized as a leader in the technology field by experts and media outlets everywhere. Inc. Magazine called him as one of 2009’s “30 Under 30” and Forbes labeled him a “Top 25 Web Celeb”. The Huffington Post recognized him as a “Top 10 Game Changer” in 2009. He previously published a weekly column on technology and social media for CNN. In 2012, Time Magazines listed Pete Cashmore as of the world’s 100 most influential people.

As for Mashable, it is a Technorati Top 10 blog. With millions of unique users reading his publication, Cashmore has a channel to speak his opinion and influence millions around the world. In 2017, Pete Cashmore sold it to Ziff Davis for 50 million dollars.

Pete Cashmore left Mashable at the end of 2018, with this message, “Now: Taking some time off and working on something new.” Since he left Mashable, we can only speculate what a new projects are forthcoming. Whatever he’s working on, we can expect something big.
