Jason Murray Arnold is a professional accountant living in St Louis, Missouri, and a respected wine blogger. Today, he is well known in the wine industry and the author of The Beginner’s Guide to Wine. He was born in August of 1979 and raised in Springfield Missouri, where he discovered the pleasures of Missouri’s Rhineland, just a short drive away. Missouri’s Rhineland is a historical wine-growing region in the central United States. Jason Arnold been featured in Writer’s Life Magazine, Google News, and In2town Lifestyle Magazine. He built his early career as a professional accountant.
Arnold completed his Bachelor’s degree in Springfield, Missouri at Drury University in 2003 before furthering his studies to earn his MBA. He also graduated from the Executive Education both at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and Harvard. Though he grew up in Springfield, he later moved to eastern Missouri, where he fulfilled the requirements of the Leadership Development Program at Washington University in St Louis. Jason became credentialed as a Certified Public Accountant and was hired by G&J Seiberlich & Co in Napa, California. He relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2007 to become the Senior Auditor at Deloitte, where he managed full-scope audits for Fortune 500 companies. Arnold’s success at Deloitte earned him recognition that brought him back home to Missouri, when he accepted a position at the CIC Group in St Louis as the Director of Finance and Financial Reporting.
At the CIC Group, he was promoted to the position of Managing Director of Finance, Financial Reporting, and Directory of Risk Management. Aftwards, in 2015, he was promoted again to become the Managing Director of Finance, Financial Reporting, and Directory of Risk Management. He discovered nine-figure shortfalls on insurance coverages and oversaw numerous acquisitions. His hard work was able to save the firm millions of dollars during his tenure there.
But, he left the CIC Group in 2018, to pursue an old passion, writing about wine. His hope is to further the cultural appreciation and enjoyment of wine. Today, he holds seminars on wine for connoisseurs and conducts wine etiquette classes and tastings for newcomers. In 2020, he published his first book, The Beginner’s Guide to Wine, which was well recieved. He posts advice and criticism on his blog, jasonmarnold.com. Because of the flood of mislabled products emerging in the marketplace, Jason Arnold has become an advocate for wide fraud prevention measures. He is actively encouraging the industry to adopt safeguards and technologies to prevent counterfeit products from being sold.
